John, who is the Director Ministry at the Roanoke Rescue Mission is receiving care at The Shepard Center in Atlanta, Georgia for a traumatic brain injury he sustained two days after Christmas, on the couples 35th wedding anniversary. "I see kindness in his eyes. We just have to give John time. This experience has changed us (family) in a positive way, and when he gets better, I get to fall in love with him all over again.", said Joy. John died on Easter from complications of the fall and brain injury.
